By 1938 at the dawn of the second world war a new weapon had been perfected that will ultimately teach a lesson to all leaders. Its the sniper rifle - a special type of gun that can aim from a very far distance and take out it’s target, bull’s eye.
It wasn’t long before it started making it’s mark in history.
It happened that enemy soldiers usually have snipers that target the leaders in every unit and shoot them down first. A particular sniper was able to kill 225 enemy soldiers!

A Vietnam war sniper once crawled for 4 days across 2 kilometers of open field, killed a leader with just one shot and managed to crawl all the way back while enemy soldiers were searching for him. He once performed a similar feat to take out a female torturer who skinned a captured marine, cut off his balls and eye balls, then let him go.

The lady wasn’t hard to spot, but he waited from his hiding spot in the bush until she went to relieve her self in the makeshift rest room, bang! Good night.

His name is Carlos Hathcock, a rifle was later named after him just to show some respect.

And how do snipers spot the leaders? The badges they put on the shoulder of their shirts! It is a dead give away. Another easy give away, is the one pointing hands everywhere giving commands or receiving salute from other soldiers.

Snipers found out early that you can paralyze any team by neutralizing its source of energy and leadership.

For instance, during the Omaha beach landing, it happened that one of the vital wings of the attack couldn’t advance because enemy snipers have taken out all their important officers. There were a number of armed troopers pinned to the ground there, but they couldn’t advance because they had no leader.
A new leader had to be shipped from the ocean to come lead them into battle.
He tore his badge off first, I guess :D

Whenever new recruits join up to reinforce the older soldiers in the battle field, one of the first warnings the new officers get is "hey, remove your badge, dick head!".
There are times when the best way to lead and keep the team advancing is not to announce presence, dominate and exercise authority all the time, but to know the special times to ditch your badge, mix-up with your team, feel what they feel, do what they do and become like everyone else, dick head! :D
