Things I’ll change in twitter on day one if I join them
I strongly believe, Twitter’s main problem has to do with their approach to UX.
If I become some head at twitter today,
Day 1, I’ll clean up their entire UX team and take another look at the whole thing.
I’ll also revisit their messaging system. Make it an instant messenger and add message requests for people not following you.
I’ll link people’s medium account to their twitter profile so other viewers can go to a person’s profile and view their latest medium posts.
Instead of using icons for ‘retweet’, ‘reply’ ‘like’, I’ll use the right English words for those, with those icons beside them.
And many other tiny little adjustments that has to do with news feed settings. My twitter timeline is just a total mess, lots of different useless posts I don’t need.
40% of people that signup on twitter don’t post a single thing. They proly because they get lost on the platform. To a new user (and some older users like me), Twitter interface is a puzzle.
So true. Typical twitter status update feels like a programming language:
“RT @username1 @username2 hello world #trump #hilary #election http:goo.gl/sjksdkjsh”
WTF?
Twitter is currently in financial crises, fired 350 employees, shut down vine and has been in the market since early this year, looking for a buyer.
Problem is, no one wants to buy twitter. Twitter is currently worth $1.2b, but no one cares to buy mainly because their new user statistics is appalling. They haven’t been getting new users.
