The great filter for humanity will start from a police state, see how

We should all be in a police state by 2030, a state where the government is in total control of the citizens through technology.

That is, your government knows everything about you including what messages and calls you send to others. And they use it to police the populace.

Imagine being in a protest and receiving alerts on your phone that you are being billed for ‘illegally’ attending a protest. The longer you stay there, the more bank debit alerts you get.

By around 2040, the technology themselves will start trying to take over the government. Computers will become so wise that once you declare to run for any election, they scan everything about you to determine your score: all past messages ever, private room conversations, past phone calls, emails etc.
The AI can introduce bias in the scan too.

One day, the AI will declare that there is no need for a human-run government because humans are inefficient.

Protests don’t work on robots, humans will pick up arms to resist.
