The primary message of Jesus in the bible is a bit unexpected.

The primary assignment of every Christian is to be the light of the world, not to go to heaven, church, etc. But to live a life such that your potentials are realised they become a blessing to the world around you.

This is the most important message of Jesus.

It’s the most important message in the bible because that’s the one variable as a christian you can control 100%.

You can’t control sin, the bible says that all have already sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

You can’t control your entrance to heaven, according to the bible, no matter how well you think you may have lived, there is a judgement on the last day and you won’t tell the judge what to rule or how to decide your case.

The one single variable you can control everyday you wake up is to not be a source of darkness, that is, not harm people, mislead them, or become a source of pain to them.

But to be the light of the world such that people live happier and more successful and more fulfilled lives because you exist.

And Jesus told the story of a person who buried their talent instead of using it, and then God took the talent and opportunities from them. This means that your life cannot be meaningfully pointless if you believe in Jesus, your purpose everyday must continually be to let the world benefit from more of what you have to offer.

As a demonstration of this, Jesus lived to his own full potentials. He also called out some of his friends to live theirs too. Such as when he called his old friend Peter to live fishing but to go with him around the world to create a legacy that will last forever.

Praying, speaking in tongues, falling under the anointing, prophesy, paying tithes, offerings. All these are for your own personal edification, they do not make the world a better place.

The core of Christianity is that you must harness your talent and implement it for the benefit of the whole world and to not be a source of pain to people.

If it comes down to the fact that someone has to die for others to survive and be happy, that person has to be you, according to Jesus.

He said:

1. Love God

2. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

But then he added the most important one:

None of those two loves above is greater than laying down your life for your friends. That could be seen literarily like Jesus did in the bible or figuratively as in being the light of the world around you.

This is why Jesus did not start any religion, because you don’t need to belong to any religion to become a good person to the world.
